Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 25 May 2026

These Terms govern your use of Coachly — the website at hellocoachly.com, the coach console at app.hellocoachly.com, and the Coachly iOS application (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

1. Who we are

The Service is operated by Coachly (working name), a project based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. For questions about these Terms, email hello@hellocoachly.com.

2. Accounts

You need an account to use most parts of the Service. You’re responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe and for any activity under your account. You must be at least 16 to use Coachly on your own; younger users may use it with a parent or guardian’s consent.

3. Coaches, clients, and amateurs

Coachly is designed for anyone helping someone reach a fitness or nutrition goal — whether you’re a friend, a side-hustle coach, a qualified personal trainer, or a registered diëtist.

When you act as a coach, you’re solely responsible for the advice you give. Coachly is a tool for organising and delivering your coaching; it isn’t medical advice, doesn’t practise medicine, and doesn’t supervise the relationship between you and the people you coach. If you hold a regulated qualification (e.g. registered diëtist), you remain bound by the standards of your profession.

When you act as a client, the coaching content you receive comes from the person coaching you, not from Coachly. Use your own judgement, and consult a qualified medical professional before starting any new training or nutrition programme — especially if you have an underlying condition, are pregnant, or are recovering from injury.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to break the law or harm others;
  • Misrepresent your qualifications, especially if you hold yourself out as a regulated professional you are not;
  • Upload content that’s harassing, hateful, infringing, or illegal;
  • Try to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service, or use it to train machine-learning models;
  • Use the Service to send unsolicited marketing or spam.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the workout plans, meal plans, check-ins, messages, photos, and other content you put into the Service. You grant Coachly a limited licence to host, process, and display that content so we can operate the Service for you and for the people you coach (or who coach you).

6. Health data

With your explicit permission, Coachly reads selected categories from Apple HealthKit on your device. We only read the categories you approve, we don’t share that data with advertisers, and we don’t use it for any purpose other than the coaching relationship you’ve consented to. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.

7. Subscriptions and payments

Coachly offers a free tier and paid tiers. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We don’t refund partial periods unless required by law.

If you process client payments through Coachly, a separate payments agreement may apply. Card and SEPA processing is handled by our payment partner; Coachly does not store full card details.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that materially breaches these Terms or that puts other users at risk. You may close your account at any time; we’ll keep records only as long as needed to meet legal, billing, and security obligations.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is”. Coachly doesn’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we don’t guarantee any specific health, fitness, or nutrition outcomes. Coaching content delivered through the Service is not medical advice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by Dutch law, Coachly’s total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost profits, lost data, lost opportunity).

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you in-product or by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after the change means you accept the new Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes go to the courts of Amsterdam, unless mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction.

13. Contact

Questions, complaints, or feedback? hello@hellocoachly.com. We read everything.

This is the first version of Coachly’s public terms. Future updates will be summarised in a changelog visible at the top of this page.
